I took this photo in Yosemite a while ago, when I climbed Half Dome after I graduated high school. This was a view from the top, granitic fields below a massive cotton-candy cloud. I remember thinking to myself that this cloud is maybe the most beautiful cloud that ever existed, with the flattened bottom and magnificent puffs unfolding upwards and outwards. Maybe that was because I was high in adrenaline land after hiking all day up a big famous dome; everything felt amazing up there at the top of the world, triumphantly scanning the 360 degree view.
I thought this photo was fitting since I just recently finished working close to Yosemite this summer, spending many days re-discovering and better understanding the greater layout and geography of the park. I have since found many more adventures in addition to Half Dome, but this photo reminds me of that feeling of freshly discovering, for yourself, a new destination.
